Lunch experience at Ekaa Mumbai

When I first heard about this restaurant it made me curious. I checked their page and social media and the first thing that showed there was 'Inception of interpreted cuisine inspired by ingredients, people and culture'. Interesting isn't it ?

Well reading that, made me even more curious about what that meant when it comes to a restaurant.

Brainchild of talented Chef Niyati Rao, who has worked at several renowned luxury restaurants, including a three michelin star restaurant in Copenhagen called Noma. Her connect with regional cuisine and varied Indian produce is what she wanted to be the hero of the restaurant.

Ekaa Restaurant is well located in one of Mumbai’s iconic buildings Kitab Mahal at Fort. Kitab Mahal: the 131-year-old building itself is an architectural marvel. This place is a neoclassical structure where its wooden stairway leads to an amazing gastronomic restaurant. This restaurant has a long bar with bottles of infusions that feature the elegant cocktails and mocktails for their diners.

With so many new places opening up in the city, I often wonder what sets a place apart before visiting a new cafe or a restaurant.

Similarly, when I heard of a new place that’s opened up in Fort – Ekaa, I wondered if it would be just another restaurant that I would go to check off my list.

However, when I visited the place and I spoke to the team, the manager, and the head mixologist, I realized that the menu, its cocktails, everything in the restaurant have been given immense thought and curated accordingly.
